Ethics policy - Code of Conduct

1. Who We Are

Anzy Home is a Ukrainian brand of handmade knitted home décor and kids products, founded in 2018 by Anna Zmiievska. Every product is crafted by hand in our studio in Kamianske, Ukraine — using traditional knitting, crocheting, and macramé techniques.

We sell internationally, with a primary focus on the United States and Europe. Our US entity, Armonia Home Inc, was registered on 20 September 2023. We also operate Anzy Home S.L. in Valencia, Spain.

This Code of Conduct sets out the values, standards, and behaviours we hold ourselves to — and that we expect from everyone who works with us.

2. Who This Code Applies To

This Code applies to:

  • All studio employees and remote/home-based artisans

  • Suppliers of yarn, cord, fabric, wood, and other raw materials

  • Business partners, distributors, and wholesale stockists

  • End consumers of Anzy Home products

3. Our Core Values

Quality & Craftsmanship

Every Anzy Home product is handmade from scratch. We do not use industrial machinery or mass-production processes. The skill, care, and time of our artisans is at the heart of everything we make.

Sustainability

We favour natural, certified materials — cotton, wool, and wood. We use recycled cotton cord where possible and apply circular economy principles including recycling and upcycling. No toxic dyes or hazardous chemicals are used at any stage of production.

Social Responsibility

We create fair, meaningful employment for Ukrainian women — with a priority given to internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by the ongoing armed conflict. More than half of our production staff are IDPs who have chosen to rebuild their lives through skilled work.

Transparency & Ethical Trade

We communicate honestly with our customers, partners, and suppliers. What we say about our products — their origin, materials, and how they are made — is accurate and verifiable.

4. Labour Standards

No Child Labour

Anzy Home does not employ any person under the age of 18, in any capacity. This exceeds the ILO minimum of 15 years and the Ukrainian Labour Code minimum of 16 years. All workers provide identity documentation confirming their date of birth before starting work.

No Forced Labour

All work at Anzy Home is freely chosen and fairly compensated. No person is coerced, pressured, or required to work against their will. Workers are free to leave at any time without penalty.

Fair Contracts & Pay

All studio employees are formally employed under Ukrainian labour law with written labour contracts. Remote artisans sign a written agreement before commencing work. Pay rates are communicated clearly before work begins and reviewed regularly to account for inflation.

Safe Working Conditions

We provide clean, well-lit, ergonomically appropriate working conditions in our studio. Regular breaks are encouraged to prevent repetitive strain. Home-based artisans receive guidance on safe working practices.

Freedom of Association

All employees and artisans have the right to join, form, or not join a trade union of their choice. We do not interfere with workers' right to organise or engage in collective bargaining.

Non-Discrimination

Hiring, pay, and employment decisions are based on skills and performance — not gender, age, race, religion, disability, displacement status, or any other protected characteristic. We actively welcome applications from IDPs and women from vulnerable groups.

No Harassment or Abuse

Every person working with Anzy Home deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. Harassment, bullying, and abuse of any kind — physical, verbal, psychological, or sexual — will not be tolerated.

5. Material Safety & Product Standards

All materials used in our production are certified safe by our suppliers. Finished products are tested by accredited external laboratories:

  • EN1466:2023 — Moses baskets and stands (SGS France, test report No CL25-04138-02.001 / DC26-01738)

  • EN16890:2017 — Mattresses (STC Dongguan Company Limited)

  • OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 — Source materials (yarn and recycled cotton cord)

  • REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 — Restrictions on formaldehyde, dyes, lead, and phthalates

No toxic chemicals, dyes, solvents, or hazardous substances are applied to our products at any stage.

6. Responsible Sourcing

Anzy Home sources materials from suppliers in Ukraine, Poland, and Turkey. We require all suppliers to:

  • Confirm they do not use forced or child labour

  • Provide material certifications relevant to product safety

  • Accept our right to request documentation or conduct checks

Human rights and anti-forced labour clauses are incorporated into supplier agreements. Supplier certifications are reviewed at each order cycle.

7. Environmental Responsibility

We minimise our environmental footprint through:

  • Handmade production with no industrial energy consumption

  • Use of natural materials: cotton, wool, and wood

  • Preference for recycled cotton cord

  • No toxic dyes or chemical finishes

  • Circular economy practices: recycling and upcycling of materials

We support UN SDG 1 (No Poverty) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) as core pillars of our brand mission.

8. Honest Communication

We do not make misleading claims about our products, their origin, or how they are made. Our marketing reflects reality: products are genuinely handmade in Ukraine by skilled artisans, using materials we have verified.

We protect customer data and privacy in accordance with applicable regulations.

9. Grievance & Reporting

Anyone who has a concern — an employee, artisan, supplier, or partner — can report it through our Grievance and Complaint Mechanism:

  • ILO Core Conventions (freedom of association, no forced/child labour, non-discrimination)
